What happened to Seminarfest?

Our Society has introduced a new name for our annual immersive, weeklong education event. SafetyFOCUS will feature more than 100 courses from 50 expert facilitators. New name, same great event.

What are the course hours?

Courses begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. PST and end at 4:30 p.m. PST daily. Leave ample time to find your classroom and get situated so you don’t miss a thing.

What is the dress code?

Casual business attire (no shorts or jeans) is appropriate for this professional safety education event. We recommend you bring something warm and dress in layers as it can get cold inside the classrooms.

Can I make changes to my registration?

Yes. Please contact our customer service team to make any adjustments to your schedule. You may email or call us at +1 847-699-2929. If you are onsite and need to make a change, stop by our registration desk.

How do I get my continuing education units (CEUs)?

To receive CEUs, attendees need to be present for sessions from start to finish and participate in learning activities provided. We will post CEUs to your ASSP transcript in approximately 30 days.

1-day course = 0.7 CEUs
2-day course = 1.4 CEUs
3-day course = 2.1 CEUs

What if I have to leave early from the class?

You must complete the full course in order to earn the corresponding CEUs.

Badge Information & Pick Up

All conference attendees are required to wear their badge throughout the conference. Your badge allows you access to those events included in your registration fee. Badges will be color coded according to your registration.

To avoid long lines and late entry to the Monday opening general session, all attendees should take advantage of our Early Badge Pick Up on Sunday, June 9.

As we expect record attendance this year, it is strongly encouraged that you take advantage of our early badge pick up locations. If you wait to pick up your badge on Monday morning, we cannot guarantee your timely admission to the Opening General Session that will begin promptly at 7:30 AM.

Where and when can I pick up my badge on Sunday, June 9?

Below are the locations where you will be able to pick up your badge on June 9 – it’s easy and will only take a few minutes. You must have your barcode at that time which will be emailed to registrants around May 23rd, please note that no changes to your information can be made at these locations.

Health & Wellness

No-Smoking Policy: For the comfort and health of all attendees, smoking is not permitted at any ASSP function.

First Aid Room Medical Room | Lobby B2: Additionally, Cintas First Aid Kits will be available in the Marketplace, Lounge and locations throughout the convention center.

Professional Development

Career Center | Room 224: Meet with companies recruiting for positions, view resumés and post positions, resumé critique and guidance available.

CEUs: To receive CEUs, attendees need to be present for the education hours of the sessions and participate in learning activities provided. CEUs will be posted to your ASSP transcript in approximately 30 days. ASSP is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). ASSP complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard, which is recognized internationally as a standard of excellence in instructional practices. As a result of this accreditation, ASSP is authorized to issue the IACET CEU.

Evaluations: Electronic session evaluations can be completed through the Safety 2019 App under each session’s description.

Concurrent Session Recordings: Recordings are now included free with your full conference registration. Watch 150+ sessions (all concurrent sessions which our speakers gave permission to record) with video and slides synched to audio. You’ll receive an email with information on how to access our recordings a few weeks after Safety 2019 ends. Free access to the recordings lasts for 60 days after recordings become available.
