Policies and Procedures

Cancellation Policy:

ASSP will grant full refunds to cancellation requests received by April 20 via e-mail to customer service, after May 11, no refunds will be issued. If, for any reason, ASSP must cancel a course or event, liability is limited solely to the registration fees paid. ASSP is not responsible for other expenses incurred, including travel and accommodation fees.

CEUs:

ASSP is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). ASSP complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard, which is recognized internationally as a standard of excellence in instructional practices. As a result of this accreditation, ASSP is authorized to issue the IACET CEU. To receive CEUs, attendees need to be present for the education hours of the seminar(s) selected and participate in all-learning activities provided by the instructor(s). Learning objectives will be assessed by providing feedback through evaluations, completing tests or quizzes, participating in discussions, and/or through presenting the results of a group project.

ASSP Course CEUs:
1/2-day course = 0.4CEUs
1-day course = 0.7 CEUs
2-day course = 1.4 CEUs
3-day course = 2.1 CEUs

BCSP Recertification Points: For Board of Certified Safety Professionals recertification points, ASSP awarded CEUs are equivalent in value (e.g., 1.0 CEU = 1.0 recertification point).

ABIH CM Credit for CIH: The courses offered may be eligible for ABIH CM credit. See the ABIH web site for CM credit criteria.

IHMM CMPS for CHMMS: The courses offered may be eligible for ABIH CM credit. See the IHMM’s website for recertification CMP information.

Consent:

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, ASSP professional development, constitutes an agreement by the registrant to ASSP’s use and distribution of the attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audio tapes of such events and activities.

Groups:

Bring five or more colleagues from your company and save on the entire event. The more attendees you have and the earlier you register, the more you save. Note: If cancellations reduce your group size to a lower discount level, each registrant will be billed the difference between the discount applied and the next discount level fee. *Rates vary based on registration date. Medical Emergencies:

In case of emergency while in the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, dial 3040 from any house phone or dial (504) 582-3040 to notify convention center security.

Payment:

You must submit a completed registration form, along with full payment, to process your registration (your credit card information or company check payable to American Society of Safety Professionals). We will not process registrations without full payment.

Program Disclaimer:

ASSP reserves the right to alter or delete items from the program in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Material has been prepared for the professional development of ASSP members and others in the occupational safety and health community. Neither the instructors nor ASSP can warrant that the use of material presented will be adequate to discharge the legal or professional liability of the members in the conduct of their practices. All materials used in the preparation and delivery of presentations on behalf of ASSP are original materials created by the instructors, or otherwise are materials which the instructors have all rights and authority to use and/or reproduce in connection with such presentation and to grant the rights to ASSP as set forth in the instructor agreement. Subject to the rights granted in the instructor agreement, all applicable copyrights, trade secrets, and other intellectual property rights in the materials are and remain with the instructors. Please note: Unauthorized recording, in any form, of courses is prohibited.

Smoking policy:

For the comfort and health of all attendees, smoking is not permitted at any ASSP function.

Substitutions:

A $25 substitution fee will be charged per the substitution attendee. Submit substitutions in writing by January 11, 2019 to CustomerService@assp.org or fax to +1.847.768.3434. If pricing for the new attendee changes the total cost of attending the event, you will be charged or refunded for the difference in fees.

Visa:

Obtaining a VISA is solely the responsibility of the attendee. Please contact the local government of the host country for details. Once a paid registration is received, a letter of invitation will be provided by ASSP, upon request.
